How did we connect?

Reading festival 24/08/18
I was attending the festival as I had arranged to make Michael Dapaah a pair of custom AF1s. I was invited backstage to drop off the shoes to Michael AKA Big Shaq and after the meet I saw Post as he was walking past with his entourage.
I plucked up the courage to shout 'POST!'. He stopped, left his entourage, to come over and take a look at the shoes I had made.
My friend managed to film this clip on my phone:
Custom Vans for Post
We exchanged details and shortly after Reading festival had finished, we arranged to make some custom 1 of 1 Beerbongs & Bentleys Old Skool Vans.
B&B was his most recent album at the time and it was his first to debut at number 1 on the US Billboard 200. It broke records for the most streams in a single week on services like Spotify and Apple Music and is now multi platinum. It helped solidify Post Malone's position as a major player in the music industry.

Old Skool Vans
I wanted to keep this shoe fairly simple, but really incorporate the album colours and artwork. I also noticed his POSTY CO artwork on his merch and loved the simplistic bold style so much I had to include it.
I decided to take off the original vans 'stripe' and replace it with hand painted barbed wire in the same shape. This paid homage to his album artwork and I really loved this detail. I also included the Cow's skull featured on his neck, on the toe box of the shoe. Here are some of the references I used:

Hopefully we can make something together again in the future.
